OUR MENTORING PHILOSOPHY

We feel strongly about creating an inclusive research environment that is both diverse and equitable. We believe in inclusive excellence in all aspects of our working environment, by striving for intentionality, equity, and cultural responsiveness to all intersecting backgrounds and social identities. Our professional relationships are based on mutual respect, and we strive to create a safe environment in which all lab members are comfortable expressing their views and opinions freely. We take an individual differences approach to mentoring: each trainee is unique, and our training will be individualized to support the psychosocial and instrumental needs of each trainee on an individual basis. Thus, our primary objective is to help build the skills of our trainees that are specific to their individual needs and goals. In all areas of work, we expect quality and excellence, and we will help guide you as you work towards your goals.
